Mobile Loaves & Fishes is an Austin-based nonprofit that provides food, clothing, dignity, and housing to the homeless and indigent working poor.

We accomplish this mission through the use of catering trucks that go out onto the city streets of Austin, San Antonio, New Orleans, Providence, and Nashville every night of the week, thanks to the hard work of over 12,000 volunteers.

Hardboiled eggs are the most popular item we send out on the trucks--they are portable and nutritious snacks, two qualities that the homeless we serve value immensely.  Since it is Easter, and since eggs are central to the MLF mission, we felt compelled to commemorate the timing with SXSWi in this way.  SXSWi brings some of the brightest technological and social media minds to Austin, so we feel like the partnership is natural!

We hope that you will follow @MLFNOW long after SXSWi and keep listening.  The homeless and indigent working poor are one of the most underrepresented populations in the US today.
